Why Calistree Will Be Your Next Gym Buddy
One of the many features that makes Calistree different from other apps is its fine-tuned ability to track your progressions and inform you of changes that need to be made. At Calistree, we believe that consistent small advances lead to progress: adding one more rep or a slightly heavier weight each session is an inch that will take you miles.
Your Fitness Bookkeeper
Personally, I think this is the coolest feature in Calistree. It takes the journal, the “notes” app, and the remembering “how much weight did I squat last Monday?” out of the equation. All you have to do is log your sessions and activities, and we’ll handle the planning.
Your first logged session is your starting point. The more data you log, the more accurate suggestions you receive. Calistree remembers what you logged in one session so it can suggest one more rep or a few more pounds on your next go around. Once you’ve hit a mastery level of an exercise, the app will climb up the skill tree and suggest a harder progression to work towards. You always have the option to view any skill tree and pick your own exercise or you can allow the app to make educated suggestions for you!
Life Happens, Targets Change
Whether you have an off-day or you’re on vacation, the app will consider it. You have no “streak” to maintain and no need to reset anything after a rest. Simply start logging sessions when you’re ready, and once your old target is achieved, you’ll be right back on track to getting those cool skills and big muscle gains!
We truly built Calistree to move with you. The progressions take rest days and hiatuses into consideration and the same goes for cardio, balance, and flexibility. Whether you skip the last few miles of your run or master a skill in one session, Calistree is constantly calculating what to expect of you next, so track those miles, and use our barbell plate calculator because all of these are factors in your Readiness score for new skills. You can find a deep-dive into your personal records, skill mastery, and XP (experience points) in the analytics tab in your Calistree profile.

I never leave reviews but OH MY GOD this is the best app I have ever downloaded. It actually adds value to your life. This app tracks all your progress, gets all the workouts ready for you so you don't have to worry about anything. It tells you how many PRs you've reached and updates exercises with slightly harder progressions when you master them. Super customizable too and you can go at your own pace. Seriously awesome app 5 stars!!!

I'm stoked about this app, it's exactly what I was looking for in terms of interesting bodyweight exercises, usability and varied workouts. I love that it progresses you to different levels as you master exercises and I have a good time in the gym using it. I ended up getting the paid version as I like having different journeys to focus on different goals across the week.

I’ve tried several fitness apps, but this is the only one I love! What makes it great for beginners is that it shows easy variations to get you started, and when you master those, it levels you up to more challenging variations.
Questions
What if the next step is too much?
Change it. Every target is editable mid-session, and a missed target is not a failure: the next session simply asks for less. If a whole exercise is too hard, Quick Switch swaps it for a suitable easier one and the skill tree shows the step below.
Does it work for weights and cardio?
Reps, time and weight all carry over from session to session, and personal records track weighted lifts and cardio distances. The automatic step-ups apply to reps and sets today, and automatic weight increases are coming soon.
Do I lose my progress after a break?
Your history stays. Your experience levels decay slowly while you rest, so when you come back the app already expects a little less, and there is nothing to reset. Resume your routine or generate a new one.
Is automatic progression free?
Yes. It runs on every routine, generated or official, on the free plan.
